The team at First Years has recently received lots of enquiries on how to incorporate loose parts in the environment. Loose parts is the term given to materials and resources that children can manipulate, move and build with. They are often recycled or found in nature and are very much open ended resources.
However, not all services agree with recycled loose parts. Some services find that the risks that come with these resources are not worth taking. So how can you incorporate loose parts in the environment? What are the risks involved and how do you manage these risks?
One of our directors recently teamed up with the squad at Manscaping to discuss these exact issues. A link to the podcast can be found below, so have a listen and let us know what you think.
